The governance literature often says that there is a clear division between management and governance. I have not found this to be the case. The conventional way would be to draw a straight line with management at one end and governance at the other. Realistically it is more like a curvy, wavy line, going out and in. As long as clarity exists of who is doing what, what the roles are and how communication can be enhanced to meet the mission of the organisation, things are more likely to be met. It is having those conversations that may sometimes be difficult! I will share some practices of how to have these really difficult conversations. Watch this space!
